Salopian Week 2013: 24th to 29th June
As you will already know, there is a wide range of activities taking place during the final week of term, culminating in Speech Day and Prizegiving on Saturday 29th June.  These are outlined on our Salopian Week webpage, as well as in the 16-page programme that you should have received. Please note that since the programme was published, the following changes have been made:

  • The Leavers' Concert on Monday 24th June at 7.30pm will now take place in the Maidment Building and not in the Alington Hall.
  • The Eve of Speech Day Proms Concert on Friday 28th June will start at 8.30pm, but do please bring picnics into the marquee from 6.30pm.
  • Shrewsbury School Parents' Association will be providing hospitality at the RSSBC Bumping Races Rounds 2 and 3 from 2.30pm on Friday 28th June, not on Speech Day.

We have included further programme information about the various concerts, the Junior School Play, Bumps, etc at the end of this eNewsletter, under 'Forthcoming Events'.

We will also endeavour to keep the home page of the website (again, under 'Forthcoming Events') up to date with any additional information or amendments as the week progresses.

Charity Concert: Saturday 22nd June
Please come along to tomorrow evening's Britten Anniversary Concert and Art Exhibition in the Maidment Building, which is raising funds for the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre. John Moore will be accompanying the renowned tenor Adrian Thompson's recital that celebrates the 100th anniversary of Benjamin Britten's birth.

Please see 'Forthcoming Events' below for further information.

Summer Holiday Lifeguard Course
In conjunction with The Royal Life Saving Society, the School is offering a five-day intensive Lifeguard Course during July for those aged over 16. There are still some spaces available. Please download the Lifeguard Course details and a Registration Form.
