To parents of Third Formers – Bronze D of E Practice Weekends
Most pupils in the Third Form are doing Bronze DofE and will be out on a Practice Expedition Weekend shortly. The list shows which weekend they have been allocated to: Third Form Bronze Practice Weekends - Pupil Allocations. Please note it is not possible to swap between weekends and parents of dayboys in particular should note they will not be with you on the Saturday night or Sunday daytime of their respective weekend.
All boys will need to make sure they are fully prepared for the weekends - this means:
a) buying food for a 24-hour expedition (3 x meals)
b) ensuring their clothing and equipment is ready and suitable.
Note that a full kit list is on the website under Beyond the Classroom/DofE: Expedition Kit Lists. Note that sleeping bags, tents and other group items will be issued at the expedition site.

A message from the Careers Team
The latest edition in a new series of Careers Newsletters was sent to all Sixth Form students this week. The newsletters gather together some of the latest news about careers trends, schemes and programmes of relevance to Sixth Formers, and also highlight the activities and services offered in the Careers Library. They are published on the School website and printed copies are available in the Careers Library. The latest edition can be viewed via this link: Careers Newsletter, April 2014

The Careers team are keen to hear from parents working in the science and engineering sectors. They would like to build up the network of professionals from these sectors to help our current and former pupils, so if you work in any one of the diverse careers across these areas and are interested in providing advice and guidance to pupils, do please contact Dr Kate Daubney at
