Salopian Club e-bulletin June 2018

From the Director

In this glorious Speech Day week we shall be keeping our fingers crossed for the Sabrina crew seeking to qualify this Friday (29th June) for the Henley Royal Regatta and for the Saracens playing the second round of the Cricketer Cup v Uppingham Rovers at Uppingham this Sunday (1st July). We also wish our cricketers and footballers well on their tours to Devon and Budapest respectively in August and indeed to all our OS summer sports men and women.  We hope they scale the heights in the manner of Adam Booth (PH 1995-00), pictured above celebrating his second assault on the summit of Everest (further details below).

We also wish our outgoing Headmaster, Mark Turner, and his wife Elizabeth, all good fortune in his new post in Victoria, Vancouver Island; Mark departs with our sincere gratitude for his strong support of the Salopian Club.  In September, we welcome his successor, Leo Winkley, from his current post of Headmaster of St Peter's School, York.

This autumn promises to be a busy period with a Young OS party in London on Friday 7th September, the 10 Year Girls’ Reunion at Shrewsbury on Saturday 29th September, and Old Salopian Day on Saturday 6th October, so please stay connected!

Floreat Salopia.
