We were deeply saddened to hear of the tragic death of Anna Roberts in a cycling accident earlier this month.
Anna met her future husband, Stewart Roberts, at a staff party the day before she took up her position as a peripatetic music teacher at Shrewsbury. Stewart was a master here from 1978-1993, and was Housemaster of Radbrook 1984-1987, and then of Rigg's 1987-1993.
Stewart and Anna left Shrewsbury for Pakistan in December 1993, when Stewart took up his appointment as Founding Headmaster of Chand Bagh School in Lahore. He was subsequently appointed Deputy Head and then Headmaster of Dauntsey's in Wiltshire.
Anna is remembered well for her kindness and tremendous enthusiasm, both as a Music teacher and as a Housemaster's wife. She was a renowned pianist and brilliant musician, and made many solo appearances on the concert platform during her time here.
The funeral service will be held in Salisbury Cathedral on Monday 20th June at 1pm. No flowers please, but any donations will be divided between the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Jackdoors Music Educational Trust.
