A birthday fanfare for Old Salopian Charles Darwin

Tuesday 12 February 2019

Archie Eyre (Rb L6) paid tribute to Old Salopian Charles Darwin on the 210th anniversary of his birth (12th February 1809) with an excerpt from John Stanley's Trumpet Voluntary.

The fanfare was played in the School's Biology Building - named in Darwin's honour.

The musicians of Shrewsbury School performed more tributes in celebration of Charles & Emma Darwin at a very warmly received concert in St Alkmund's Church, Shrewsbury on Thursday 14th February - part of the DarwIN Shrewsbury Festival 2019, which continues with events across the town until 24th February.
