James competed in the Leon Paul BRC Junior Epée event in London on 28th October, an event that attracted 70 competitors from a range of clubs from throughout the UK.

In his 1st round pool, James had four victories and two defeats, giving him a seeding of 15th.

In the elimination rounds he won his last 64 (15-11), last 32 (15-13), last 16 (15-14), quarter-final (15-12) and semi-final (14-15).

Although missing the final by a single hit, this is a tremendous achievement to give him valuable points to move to 11th in the British rankings.
