vs Malvern College 2nds – Won 4-1

It was a great start to the season with a 4-1 win over Malvern College 2nd’s. Shrewsbury started positively and demonstrated some good attacking play to go 1-0 up after just 5 minutes. We were a little less structured in the defence, but managed to hold Malvern back and get the ball up the pitch throughout the first half. Our forwards continued to play well and Shrewsbury went in 3-0 up at half time, 2 goals from Libby Naylor and one from Katy Mason-Jones. The 2nd half was much closer with Malvern coming back strongly at the defence and scoring after 10 minutes. Rosie Boutflower in goal made some exceptional saves to keep us in it and to round things off, Katy Mason-Jones added Shrewsbury’s 4th and her 2nd goal to make the final score 4-1. A good first performance.
Player of the match was Libby Naylor.

Exhausted, but happy!
