Football Latest: 1st XI and U15A XI in ISFA Cup Draws

Friday 16 November 2018

Congratulations to the 1st XI, who have won through to the Quarter-Finals of the ISFA Boodles Cup, and to the U15s, who have reached the last 16 of the ISFA Investec Cup.

An assured performance from the 1st XI just before half-term against a dangerous Forest School team ended with a victory for Shrewsbury and a place in the last 16 of the Boodles Cup against old friends and rivals, Bolton School.

Playing away on Wednesday, the match against Bolton was a closely-fought and tense affair but finished 3-1 to Shrewsbury. The national Quarter-Final will be against Millfield.

The U15s have had an impressive run in the Investec ISFA Cup. A superb performance from the squad against Oldham Hulme Grammar in Round 2 just before half-term, which included two goals from Henry McGowan and three from Harry Cook, took them into the round of 32. They were drawn against St Bede’s College, Manchester and played at home on Senior on Thursday. Another great performance finished with a 5-2 victory and a place in the last 16.

Their next match will be against Repton.
