After a tour of the various different projects and an explanation of the work the BCP do, we got to work in the woodwork shop, creating authentic Germanic Christmas figures, which we then packaged with flair and panache.
Another group used their artistic flair to add a bit of festive pizzazz to the displays; a core group channelled their inner factory line by creating cards; and a crack team (including Mr Percival and Miss Micklewright) were tasked with creating a range of hampers for sale at Sunday’s fair.
All proceeds from the Fair will go to support the work of one of the country’s oldest Food Banks, as well as the many other sterling projects the BCP run to help the local community.
Toby Percival, who oversees the Global Social Leaders group, commented, "I was overwhelmed by the GSL group’s willingness to turn their hands to new tasks in order to support the amazing work that Karen Williams and her team do at the Barnabas Centre".
The Fair runs from 11am to 4pm and more information can be found here.
