Issy was selected to tour with the squad at the end of last month, and although not officially picked to play, she will gain invaluable experience of training alongside the team.
After two weeks quarantine, Issy is getting stuck into training and has told Head of Girls’ Cricket Gwen Davies that she is ‘loving it’.
Gwen said: “Issy is really enjoying being involved with the senior girls and experiencing the intensity of training at that level. She has been picking the brains of the best in the business in the likes of Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver, picking up any piece of advice she can.
“When they are not training, Issy is trying to get out and about as much as possible, she mentioned that she went for a dip in the lake outside of their hotel in Queenstown.”
The England Women’s Cricket Team will play three IT20s and three ODIs against the New Zealand squad, known as the ‘White Ferns’, throughout February and March.
Their first match is due to start in 12 days’ time.
