Shrewsbury School

Outstanding A level results

Wednesday 14 August 2013

Shrewsbury School is celebrating an outstanding year for A Level results, with 83% of the exams awarded the top A*, A or B grades.

There are many individual success  stories in this year’s results, not least the 14 pupils who gained at least 3 A* grades and the 53 pupils who gained an A* or A in all their subjects.

In addition, 13 pupils at Shrewsbury School with offers from Oxford or Cambridge Universities achieved the required grades to meet their offers and will be taking up their places later this year.

The School’s AS results from the Lower Sixth pupils were also extremely impressive, with 71% of grades achieved at A or B grades, a significant increase on recent years.  46 pupils gained A grades in all their subjects and over 80 gained nothing lower than a B.

Please see our Examination Results page for more photos, and a detailed breakdown of our results by subject.

Pictured below left to right are three pupils who will be particularly happy with their results: Alice Leslie (1 A* and 2 As), Ed Elcock (4 A*s and 1 A, which confirms his place at Emmanuel College, Cambridge to read Natural Sciences) and Tilly Whittingham (3 A*s).
