RSSH impress in the Midlands Independent Schools’ League

Tuesday 27 January 2015

Following a robust start to the campaign at Welbeck College last weekend, the Hunt went into the second fixture at Uppingham on Saturday lying in second place in the Senior Girls competition and the Senior Boys and top of the standings in the Colts division.

Monty Hardcastle (I) won the Colts race in outstanding fashion, coming from 11th on the final lap to win with a final sprint finish.

Despite missing all Fifth Form runners, many Third Formers ‘stepped up’ and ran brilliantly – in particular Ben Henderson (S). The Colts team therefore finished 2nd on the day to Bromsgrove, keeping it very tight at the top of the table; we are now just 3 points behind Bromsgrove.

The girls also put in some impressive performances with Olivia Papaioannou (EDH) finishing 3rd and the team overall finishing 2nd to Wrekin.

The senior boys dominated the race, with Oscar Dickins (R) and our Huntsman Theo Clarke (S) crossing the line together in 1st place. Highlighting the strength of the team were Charlie Rogers (R) 3rd, Jake Samuel (O) 4th, Alex Shaw (Ch) 5th and Charles Wade (PH) 15th.

Well done to all runners. A full report may be found on the Hunt news page.
