Shrewsbury Regatta, Sunday 12th May - Men’s Open 4+

Monday 13 May 2019

Again Sabrina put forward a four made up from those available to row on Sunday morning. It was quickly named the 'Brit' Four, with thoughts of racing the same four at Henley in the Britannia Cup, all going well!

Stroke James Stuart, 3 Pete Gadsden, 2 Tom Fitton, Bow Rob Morgan. The crew were straight into a final again, facing a composite crew from Stourport and Bewdley RC, so expectations were for another close race.

Again Sabrina drew the Quarry side, but because the river had dropped significantly overnight, the advantage was not so great. The two crews lined up with a length advantage to the opposition. However, after a good start and powerful first 250m, Sabrina had the advantage and piled the pressure on past the Boat House to go into the final 100m with a good advantage and take the race easily.

In summary, a good weekend all round for Sabrina, before the focus returns to the eight and racing over longer distances at Met, Marlow and, if all goes well, on to Henley.
