Shrewsbury School

Shropshire Squash Championships

Thursday 27 March 2014

There were some very strong individual performances in the Shropshire Squash Championships last weekend.

In the U19 Championships, Alex Webb (R IV and aged just 15) won through to the final, where he was beaten 3-1 by a very strong opponent. This was a great effort from Alex, who has already shown himself to be the second best player at Shrewsbury in my seven years at the School and probably of the last 20 years.

George Bates (S UVI) and Tom Edwards (S V) both reached the semi-finals.

Fred Earlam (Rt LVI) beat Anton Nelson (S V) 3-1 in the final of plate.

In the U17 Championship, Tom Edwards (S, V) played extremely well and reached the semi-finals. And in the U17 plate final Oliver Koch De Gooreynd (O V) beat Fred Pook (Rb V).

Harry Wasdell (Rt 3) played extremely well in the U15 Championships, losing 3-0 in the final, and Cameron Anwyl (S 3) reached the semi-finals.
