Silk Trophy 2018 at Shrewsbury School

To round off the cricket season, we were delighted to welcome Eton College, Oundle School and Rondebosch Boys' High School from Cape Town, South Africa, for the 28th annual Silk Trophy competition during the first week of the summer holidays.

Monday 2nd July

Shrewsbury 363 for (D. Humes 147, J. Crawley 131, X. Clarke 53)
Oundle 238 for 9 (X. Clarke 3 for 11, J. Crawley 3 for 15)
Shrewsbury won by 125 runs

Tuesday 3rd July

Shrewsbury 196 all out (W. Sissons 64)
Rondebosch SA 200 for 5 (J. Pattenden 2 for 16)
Shrewsbury lost by 5 wickets

Wednesday 4th July

Shrewsbury 213 all out (D. Humes 56)
Eton College 133 all out (A. Garrett 3 for 38, J. Pattenden 4 for 29)
Shrewsbury won by 80 runs

The Silk Trophy was won by Rondebosch High School.

Dan Humes (Shrewsbury School) received the Silk Trophy Batting Award for accumulating 228 runs in three innings (147 +25+56)
Shakor Mathur (Eton College) received the Silk Trophy Bowling Award for taking 8 wickets at 15.875.

Meanwhile, the U15A XI had an excellent three days competing against Eton, Marlborough and Uppingham in the 2018 Clark-Williams Trophy held at Eton College. See results.
