Trumpet-player Frank performs with the National Youth Orchestra

Monday 7 January 2019

Frank Coughlan (SH L6) won a place in the National Youth Orchestra last term and has recently performed with them in their annual Winter Tour.

They gave three concerts at the Barbican in London, Warwick Arts Centre, and the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham. Their programme was very exciting, beginning with a fantastic piece, Science Fiction by Rick Dior accompanied by film for Wind, Brass, Percussion and Harps, followed by John Adams' Doctor Atomic Symphony. After the interval was the lavish Symphony No. 2 by Sibelius conducted by Kirill Karabits.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Frank to play with musicians from across the country at the highest level.
