GCSEs
At Shrewsbury, Heads of Faculty have the freedom to choose their own courses for examination and they do so on the basis of what is most challenging and inspiring for the pupils in their care. To this end, many departments offer the international GCSE – believing it to be every bit as robust and demanding as its domestic counterpart. Many of these specifications are still graded on the eight-point A*-G system rather than the newer nine-point numerical system.
