Grounds Manager

Salary Range £35,000 to £45,000 per annum plus accommodation

Shrewsbury School is seeking a qualified and experienced Grounds Manager to take full responsibility for a very successful and established Grounds and Gardens Department. The successful applicant must be qualified to a high level in Sports Turf Management and have proven working knowledge of summer and winter sports particularly cricket, football, rugby and lacrosse. They will also be qualified and have experience in amenity horticulture to ensure that the School’s gardens are maintained and presented in the best possible manner. In all the Grounds Manager will be responsible for approximately 100 acres comprising sports fields and school grounds.

Applicants should have proven practical experience together with experience in managing and directing activities required to deliver efficient grounds maintenance in a school environment. You will possess excellent communication skills to be able to effectively respond to the needs of a diverse range of key stakeholders with competing priorities. You will be a strong people manager with the ability to lead and motivate to get the best out of a dedicated Grounds team.
