We have an excellent opportunity within our Grounds Department for a Grounds Support Operative. Previous experience of working within a grounds maintenance environment is desirable but not essential.
You will support the Grounds and Gardening teams in their roles around the school site with basic grounds and gardening duties such as leaf clearance, grass cutting, waste bin emptying, litter picking, winter gritting, basic planting and clearing of flower beds, setting-up and taking down of sports pitches to include heavy lifting of goals posts and cricket covers etc.
This is a physically demanding role therefore you must understand the importance of Health & Safety at Work Regulations. You must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Applicants must have a full driving licence to apply for this position, as there is a requirement to drive a tractor around school grounds and use the school vehicle to collect/deliver materials and equipment.
The hours of work are 39 hours per week on a rota system which will include evening and weekend work. Full details of the terms and conditions can be found in the job description.
