Matron

Permanent, part-time, term-time

We would like to appoint a part-time Matron to this key pastoral position working in our Dayboy Houses. The successful candidate will assist the Housemasters in providing pastoral care of teenage boys.  You will be a responsible and caring person who will enjoy working in our school community.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication and organisational skills and a proven ability to form professional relationships with teenagers.  Essentially, you must have a sympathetic and understanding approach with a good sense of humour.  The Matron’s main responsibility is to support the Housemasters by ensuring the welfare and well-being of all boys and the smooth running of the domestic arrangements of the house.  The Matron requires understanding and sympathy with the boys, balancing friendly disposition with the need to maintain discipline.

The hours are Monday to Saturday 21.25 hours (Michaelmas & Lent terms) and 27.50 hours Summer term) during term-time, plus 3 additional weeks in school holidays.

The closing date for completed applications forms is 12pm (noon), Friday 24 August 2018.
