Sixth Form Entrants' Assessment Weekend

"Before I came to the assessment weekend I was really nervous, but when I got here the atmosphere was great. We had a lot of fun  - I really enjoyed it in the end, even the exams and interviews! I made lots of new friends, and we kept in touch after that."

The Assessment Weekend for 2020 entry is Friday 6th - Saturday 7th November 2020.

We provide accommodation for all potential boarders, which enables them to enjoy a relaxing evening.  All candidates are able to meet some of our current pupils and to learn more about the wide range of activities on offer at Shrewsbury.

What to wear

We ask candidates to wear either their current school uniform or formal business wear: girls should wear a dark skirt or trousers, with a blouse and a plain pullover (if needed) and a jacket; boys should wear dark trousers, a shirt and tie, plain pullover (if needed) and a jacket.  Candidates who have been provided accommodation on the Friday night will also need some casual clothes to change into.

The Assessment

Each candidate takes 4 academic exams and has a pastoral interview as well as an academic interview.  A number of candidates will also have tests for specialist scholarships in sport, art, music and drama.
