Planning for a Fifth Girls’ House

We are excited to be moving ahead with planning for a fifth girls’ house at Shrewsbury. 

The School commissioned Adrian James Architects to come up with an innovative yet traditional design for a new house for boarding and day girls.

The Headmaster commented: “This is a very exciting point to reach as we plan the next phase in the development of our boarding accommodation.  We already have plans in place for the ongoing investment in our boys’ boarding houses.  With this planning application, we will be increasing the capacity for girls.  Our existing four girls’ houses will be full for September 2021 and there is growing demand for places.  The site selected for this new build project – between Hodgson Hall and Ridgemount – will bring girls into another key part of the site.”

It is planned that the fifth girls’ house will open in September 2023.
