Are you looking for a role that will challenge you, support your development and immerse you in the thriving life of one of the UK’s leading boarding schools?

Shrewsbury School is seeking graduate Teaching Fellows to join its friendly and purposeful community. These roles offer excellent opportunities for final-year undergraduates or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in classroom teaching, pastoral care and the wider co-curricular life of the School.

Successful candidates will contribute to either the School’s Humanities programme, specialising in History, Geography or Classics. Or the School’s Science programme, specialising in Chemistry, Biology or Physics

This post would be ideal for someone wishing to gain initial experience in the teaching profession and to gain key skills and knowledge in one of the country’s leading boarding schools.

The post is for a fixed term of one year, with the option of extension by mutual consent. The successful candidate will be accommodated by the School and will also be able to enjoy a programme of continuous professional development. Many of our Fellows go on to complete their formal teacher training qualifications either by gaining a full-time post in the School, or by using the experience to secure a place on a recognised course elsewhere.

Closing date: Friday, 10th April at 10am

A full induction programme is provided for all new members of staff, in addition to a programme of continuous professional development.

Support Staff

Packwood - Minibus Driver

Packwood - Minibus Driver

Part time, term time only

We are looking to recruit a friendly Minibus Driver to safely collect and drop off pupils to and from School.

The ideal candidate will have a full and clean driving licence, with a minimum of two years driving experience, and will enjoy working in a friendly and pro-active environment. You will be driving a School minibus and will be responsible for ensuring the minibus is in safe working order, clean and in good condition.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, we offer free parking and professional training and development.

An indication of the working hours are Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 8.30am and 5.30pm to 7.30pm (although you will not be required to work on a Wednesday evening).

Finance Business Partner

Permanent, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 Weeks

We are seeking an experienced Finance professional and qualified accountant to join our growing and vibrant Finance team, to assist with the financial management and analysis for the three Prep Schools within the Shrewsbury Family of Schools.

Providing a Finance Business Partnering service to the Prep Schools within the Shrewsbury family of Schools, supporting their financial management and long-term sustainability.  Work collaboratively to provide high-quality financial analysis and reporting to inform decision-making and drive financial performance in our Prep Schools.

This role combines strong technical accounting capability with excellent stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills for the Shrewsbury Family of Schools. The role will involve working at all Prep Schools and with the Central Team.

The post-holder will report directly to the Finance Director who is responsible for day-to-day Line Management including annual reviews, training and development and health and safety.

This role will require a level of travel and will be expected to attend and be part of both leadership team and other finance focused meetings at each Prep school on a regular basis.  This is a new role and will evolve and be shared with the future direction of the Family of Schools and requirements for Prep school financial support.

You will be joining at a time of growth and change within the Finance function as we develop and implement new ways of working across the family of schools.

There is an expectation of travel between the three Prep Schools and Shrewsbury School to fulfil the role.
