Weekend Cleaning Assistant

Weekend Cleaning Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Cleaning Assistant who is passionate about delivering an excellent cleaning service.  Working in our Establishment buildings, you will ensure that all areas are kept in a hygienic condition, ensuring a very high standard at all times.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a friendly and supportive environment, have an eye for detail with excellent standards of cleaning.  Previous cleaning or work experience in a similar role would be an advantage, however full training will be given.

This position is working 12 hours per week, 12pm – 6pm, Saturday and Sunday, term-time only, plus 5 weeks paid holiday.  There may be opportunity for additional hours, which will be paid in addition.

The starting hourly rate of pay will be £11.44 per hour, which will increase following a satisfactory 6-month review.  In addition, we offer professional training and development and generous benefits which include pension, life insurance, use of the school sports and library facilities and access to a cycle to work scheme.

Relief Matron (Mary Sidney Hall)

Relief Matron (Mary Sidney Hall)

Required from September 2024.

9 hours per week, term-time only.

We have an exciting opportunity at Shrewsbury School to work within one of our girls Boarding Houses as Relief Matron, providing cover on the Matron’s non-working day.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and pastoral skills, high levels of organisational skills and a proven ability to form professional relationships with teenagers.  The Relief Matron will work closely with the  Housemistress, permanent Matron and pupils. This role involves the need to have an understanding and sympathetic approach, balancing a friendly disposition with the need to maintain discipline. 

This position is required during term time only, working a Thursday evening (9pm to 10.30pm) and Friday morning and afternoon (7.15am to 9.30am and 12.30pm to 5.45pm).

Leisure Assistant

Leisure Assistant

The salary for this role is £10,839.91 per annum.

This post is for 18 hours per week, working during term time and in school holidays, with a mixture of weekday afternoons and evenings and Sunday day.

Sports Coach (Goalkeeper)

Sports Coach (Goalkeeper)

Shrewsbury School seeks to appoint a casual Sports Coach (Goalkeeper).   We are looking for candidates who hold a UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence and have a first aid qualification (although we can provide this with in-house training).

Ideally you will have experience of working with young people, be passionate about sport with the ability to hold engaging sports coaching sessions.  The successful candidate will plan and conduct high-quality goalkeeper training sessions for players aged 14-18 of all skill levels.  Further details can be found in the job description.

Shrewsbury School has its owns Sports Pay Scale.  Rates of pay are dependent upon qualifications and experience which will be discussed at interview.  The successful candidate would be required to be available on Mondays from 2-5pm and Wednesdays from 1-3pm, between September and March.

Shrewsbury School seeks to appoint a Sport Coach for Swimming.  We are looking for candidates who have Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications and a current National Rescue Award for Teachers and Coaches.  Having a current first aid qualification is also preferable, although we can provide this with in-house training.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Personal Assistant to provide outstanding professional administrative, secretarial, and organisational support to the Director of Development.  

This is a diverse and rewarding role that requires a highly organised, trustworthy individual with a can-do attitude and a calm disposition.  The successful applicant will be a pro-active solution-finder and accomplished communicator, with strong professional values and skills in handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • All-round Personal Assistance for the Director of Development.
  • Dynamic diary and calendar management.
  • Call handling and welcoming visitors, parents, and staff.
  • Meeting facilitation including composing agendas and regular minute-taking.
  • Performing a range highly confidential administrative duties relating to the daily running of the Development Office.
  • Composition, editing, review and handling of a wide range of correspondence.
  • Preparation of reports, papers, and presentations.
  • Office management and other secretarial duties as required.
  • Organising travel, events and visit itineraries, visa applications and handling expenses.

Essential Qualities:

  • Educated to A Level or above.
  • Demonstrable experience as a professional PA, Secretary or similar.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible, with initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent at building rapport and positive relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Strong typist and pride yourself on your excellent typing skills.
  • Excellent written and oral English with attention to detail.
  • Fully conversant in Microsoft Office.

The hourly rate of pay is £11.44 per hour, increasing following a successful six-month probationary review.
