Shrewsbury School

Girls play netball predominantly in the Lent term, but our senior girls also take part in Shrewsbury and District Netball Association adult evening league hosted at the School on Monday nights throughout the Michaelmas and Lent terms.  This is a great way to get our netball up and running before the start of the season and for the girls to get used to playing with each other.  It gives us the opportunity to mix players and teams around to get a cohesive team and specific positions organised early in the year.  The U19 County Netball Tournament takes place in November and we enter two teams into this. In November 2013 our 1st Team won through to represent Shropshire in the West Midlands Finals; in 2012 our 2nd Team won the Plate Competition.

In the Lent term we play between 12-16 matches against a variety of teams.  This includes local schools such as Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Shrewsbury High School as well as travelling to our hosting teams from Kings Worcester and Bromsgrove.  Last year we were able to put out three senior netball teams for the first time, and this year we will be looking for a fourth team to get off the ground.
