Meet the Housemaster...

Born in Singapore, Adam first moved back to the UK following his family’s relocation to Wiltshire, where he attended Marlborough College and then Exeter University. At university he read Business Economics, specialising in Social Policy and the Welfare State. During his studies he played a wide range of sports, and travelled extensively throughout Europe and South-East Asia, a region where he has always felt truly at home. It has been during his time in the tropics, that Adam has developed his love of Asian cuisine and tropical beaches.

After university, Adam worked in the City with Barclays Wealth, managing offshore client wealth funds. Having decided on a career change in 2009, he moved to Taiwan to teach English as a foreign language, both to dip his toes into teaching waters and to live once again in South-East Asia.

In 2011 he returned to England to complete a PGCE in Economics, and moved to Dorset for his first teaching role at Sherborne School. His seven years at Sherborne saw him teach Economics, coach rugby and cricket, whilst becoming Master in Charge of Golf, Commanding Officer of the School’s Royal Marine Detachment and an Assistant Housemaster.

Most notably at Sherborne, Adam met his wife Elodie, a teacher of Design Technology (Textiles) and Resident House Tutor at Sherborne Girls. They married in 2016 and their son Aibne was born a year later. The family is completed (for the moment at least) by their Jack Russell, Loki. Raised in a girls’ boarding house, Loki loves nothing more than the attention of teenagers and long walks in the countryside.
