Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh is a co-educational international boarding school for girls and boys between the ages of 2 and 18.

In 2021, Shrewsbury School signed agreements with Tutor Impact to establish a state-of-the-art premium international school in Phnom Penh.

The early year's school opened in the heart of the city in 2022, and will be followed by primary and secondary education on a 7.5 hectare purpose-built main campus with both boarding and day provisions.

The main campus will open in phases, offering enrolment for August 2024 for Primary up to Year 8 and August 2025 for Secondary ages above Year 8.

Our Founding Principal Toby Waterson leads a growing team of motivated educators including Deputy Principal and Head of Early Years Charlotte Thomas.

The school in Phnom Penh represents the latest exciting chapter in Shrewsbury’s international developments, following on from the establishment of successful partner schools in Bangkok and Hong Kong.

The school will follow Shrewsbury’s distinctive version of whole person education Floreat, which offers the very best academic, co-curricular and pastoral provision with state-of-the-art classroom, sporting, drama, music and living facilities.

Delegates from Shrewsbury School International Development Committee met with Tutor Impact over Zoom to establish the agreement with Shrewsbury's Dr Maghin Tamilarasan and Tutor Impact's Mr Charles Wong completing the ceremony with a signing of the agreement in the Moser Gallery.

Commenting on the developments, Headmaster Leo Winkley said: “We are tremendously excited at Shrewsbury to be beginning this venture together with our new international school in Phnom Penh.

“We are extremely excited to bring new families to the Salopian community through this global connection and we welcome the educational opportunities that will arise with it. We look forward to sharing ideas and good practices with teaching staff with a global mindset as we educate our children to be future leaders around the world.”

Located on the confluence of two of Asia’s most important waterways, Cambodia’s capital is one of the most exciting cities in South East Asia, undergoing a rapid transformation into a modern dynamic city with remarkable new architecture.
