University Fair and Workshops - Friday 9th February, 1.00 - 4.00pm, Alington Hall and Ashton Theatre

The Careers Department is running two major university events for pupils and parents next Friday.  More than 35 universities will be exhibiting at the University Fair in the Alington Hall.  And in the Ashton Theatre there will be a series of presentations covering key areas of information about higher education. If your son or daughter is even remotely thinking of going to university, this provides an important opportunity to find out more. The two events will be happening simultaneously, but the flexibility in timings allows you to attend some of the workshops as well as the exhibition. Further details, including a list of the universities that will be attending, is included under 'Forthcoming Events' below.

Starting at 9.00pm on Friday 9th February, they will be playing 10 sports in 10 hours - finishing at 7.00 on Saturday morning.  If you would like to sponsor them and help pay for sight-restoring work at the Eye Clinic, please see their online giving page: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/shrewsburyallnightsports

Lecture by Lord Heseltine - Thursday 22nd March at 2.45pm in the Alington Hall, Shrewsbury School

Next month we are delighted to be welcoming Michael Heseltine to deliver the annual Thomas Pryce VC Memorial Lecture.  Lord Heseltine, Conservative politician and businessman, returns to his former School to reflect on his life in politics and the wider contemporary landscape.  It promises to be a fascinating lecture and an illuminating insight into the life of arguably one of the most influential politicians of his generation.

We are anticipating a full Alington Hall for this lecture, with the entire Sixth Form in attendance alongside pupils from various invited local schools.  We have held back a number of tickets to be made available to Shrewsbury School parents. Details for obtaining these are included under 'Forthcoming Events' below.
