Live-streaming of the House Singing Competition, Friday 12th October

The Inter-House Singing Competition has for some time now been one of the highlights of the Shrewsbury School year.  Last year, we trialled live-streaming the event online to enable those who live further afield to have the opportunity of watching the Competition and supporting the pupils from afar.  By popular request, we will be doing this again this year.  Details of how to access the live stream will be emailed to all parents and guardians during the course of next week.

This weekend at Shrewsbury...

A reminder – if you needed one – that there is a huge amount going on at Shrewsbury this weekend. Our usual full schedule of sporting fixtures on Saturday afternoon will include a number of football and hockey matches against Old Salopian teams, and on Saturday evening we will also be welcoming back many of our Old Salopian girls for a joyful celebration of 10 Years of Co-education.

Saturday evening also sees the second performance of the Dayboys' House Play 'An Incident at Vichy' at 7.30pm in the Ashton Theatre.

On Sunday we very much look forward to welcoming families of Sixth Form Entrants to a Chapel Service followed by a Drinks Reception in Quod and the Sixth Form Entrants' Concert in the Maidment Building

Specatators are also very welcome at the annual Alex Wilson Memorial Football Match taking place that morning (details below).

On Sunday afternoon, 120 of our prospective 2019 entrants and their families will be coming to get a taste of life at Shrewsbury in another of our hugely successful annual 'Shrewsbury Sunday' events, and almost 50 of them will be staying on to take part in assessments for Sports and Michael Palin All-Rounder Scholarships.

Then on Sunday evening, there’s a chance for Shrewsbury audiences to hear some of the musicians who will be travelling to Hong Kong during half-term to perform at the Gala Concert to celebrate the Grand Opening of Shrewsbury School UK. 'An Evening of Chamber Music' is in the Maidment Building at 7.30pm and admission is free.
