Please support ‘Team Shrewsbury School’ in the Shrewsbury Half-Marathon this Sunday, 6th October

This Sunday morning, 45 members of the School community - pupils, staff, parents and Old Salopians - will be taking part in the annual Shrewsbury Half Marathon. They are raising funds for two charities that work in two of the poorest countries in the world. The Andrew Grene Foundation supports a school that is carrying out incredible work with children in Haiti following the devastating earthquake in 2010 and is also transforming the lives of over 1,500 Haitian women through a microfinance project. Medic Malawi funds a hospital in Mtunthama, rural Malawi, together with a clinic for feeding the malnourished, an orphanage for 70 children, and the Shrewsbury School Eye Clinic.

To sponsor Team Shrewsbury School, please donate using the following links:

The race route passes Shrewsbury School at around the 7-mile point. Just after a tough climb up to Kennedy Road, the runners will come along Ashton Road from the Gorswen tennis courts and then go past the Moss Gates. If parents and friends would like to cheer Team Shrewsbury School on from this vantage point, do please come along. The lead runners should be coming through from just after 9.30am.
