Shrewsbury School Coaches - reminder of important changes

The School’s system of coaches that has transported pupils around the country at the start and end of each term, Exeats and Coach Weekends has been running for some 25 years. A thorough review has taken place lately and some important changes are taking place. Please see a letter from Mr Johnson with full details of these changes, which will take effect from 1st January 2020: Shrewsbury School Coach Booking Updates

Message from Mr Nick David re: Third Form Outdoor Week 2020

Please note that all pupils in the Third Form will be taking part in Outdoor Week during June 2020. This involves a week out of lessons (8th to 13th June) and as well as community work, a European battlefield tour and nature projects, all the year group will complete a two day walking expedition. For the 107 pupils in the year group who have opted for Bronze this will count as their Qualifying Expedition. Please bear in mind that some basic outdoor clothing is necessary for both this and the ongoing BASE programme on Thursday afternoons. In particular it is worth investing in a pair of walking boots with ankle support, and a decent waterproof jacket. We do have some footwear and sets of waterproofs we can lend from our stores, but perhaps there are gifts or ‘hand me downs’ that can be considered over the next few months.

Also those pupils who have registered for Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award and have logged onto DofE for the first time should receive their Record Books in the post over the Christmas break. As well as information for parents this also includes a discount card for use in retailers such as Go Outdoors, Blacks, Tiso, Millets etc. For those living overseas the Record Books will be posted to their school address.
