Five wins for Salopian rowers in long distance sculls

On Sunday a flotilla of Shrewsbury small boats took to the water to take part in the Chester Long Distance Sculls.

The event saw crews racing over a five-kilometer course of the River Dee.

Racing that distance in a scull requires not only the physiological fitness to perform but also a great awareness of the boatmanship and steering to master the various corners and other competitors along the way.

It provided valuable race experience for all that took part and it was wonderful to record five event wins in the process. Well done to the following for winning their sculls events: Joe D (SH), Ben M (S), Toby S (I), Anneli F (EDH) and Katie W (Q).
