Salopian musician is the youngest performer at Polish International Music Festival
A Fifth Form pupil was the youngest performer at an International Music Festival in Poland over the summer.
Joanna C (QEH, V) was the youngest performer at the Arthur International Music Festival in Jastrzebie Zdroj, Poland, this summer, where she was given the opportunity to play the first movement of Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto with a live orchestra, conducted by Robert Kabara.
Joanna was amongst 500 applicants from around the world and selected as one of the final 8 to perform a concerto with an orchestra.
In preparation for the course, Joanna spent a week in Poland studying at an intensive music course where she participated in masterclasses and rehearsals before performing the concerto.
This is an amazing feat for such a young musician.
