Old Salopians

Two Old Salopians are just a few days away from completing the ‘World’s toughest row’.

Rob Cross (S, 2008-13) and Rob Treasure (I, 2009-14), along with fellow British Army friend Charlie Newman, are currently in the middle of a 3000-mile journey from the Canary Islands to Antigua in a 9-metre rowing boat, all in the name of charity.

The trio – known as Team V3nture - are looking to raise £140,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to their hearts.

The race started on Wednesday, December 11th and as of the 16th January, they had 388 nautical miles to go until they reach the finish line.

If anyone is interested in following the race while in progress, the free YB App is excellent and very easy to use: download at YB Races App | YB Tracking and search for the World's Toughest Row Atlantic 2024. Each team’s location, speed, ranking, distance to travel, etc. can then be seen at a glance. The data is updated every 4 hours. TEAM V3NTURE can be followed on Instagram/X/Facebook: @teamv3nture.

To anyone who wishes to donate towards the team’s outstanding efforts, you can do so here.

Any support that the Salopian community is able to give would be hugely appreciated. Thank you to those who have already donated.
