Shrewsbury School

OS Fives

The Old Salopian Fives Club is extremely active, and members compete in various national Alumni cups during the season.  The Monday Fives Club takes place (on Monday evenings) at School, where members play with and against each other and some of our current pupils.

Shrewsbury won the EFA Open Championships at Eton in March 2011, and were presented with the cup by Old Salopian Peter Worth (M 1965-70), Chairman of the Eton Fives Association and an Open winner himself.

In February 2011, the OS Fives reached the Final of the Barber Cup at Eton, where they were playing alongside some of our girls who got through to the Plate Final of the  EFA Ladies' Championship, where they were narrowly defeated by an Oxford pair that included one of the first Old Salopian girls, Alice Walker!  Alice (MSH 2008-2010) has since been made Captain of Girls' Fives at Oxford.
Further information on the OS Fives Club is available from the Secretary, Rex Worth (S 2002-07)
