All Old Salopians and their families are warmly invited to Old Salopian Day on Saturday September 14th.
This year there is a great deal to celebrate!
The Old Salopian Football Club fixtures are back on OS Day and it's therefore particularly appropriate that the dinner in the evening will be a celebration of legendary 1st XI coach and Oldham's Housemaster Robin Trimby's 90th birthday.
We'll also be celebrating the 150th birthday of Churchill's and hope as many Churchillians as possible will return for a drinks party in house.
It is the centenary of Mallory and Irvine's attempt on Everest and Robin Brooke-Smith will be speaking about Old Salopian Sandy Irvine's story and his legacy.
It is also 10 years since girls arrived in the Third Form, we'll be celebrating this step towards full co-education.
We have a very special guest speaker- the political journalist Christopher Hope (O 1985-90) former Associate Political Editor of the Daily Telegraph, writer of 'Peterborough' and currently Political Editor of GB News
Plus an art exhibition, classic car rally, lunch and a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old school friends and staff.
This year the dinner in the evening will be for Old Salopians and their partners who fall into the following categories
a) Any 1st XI footballers coached by Robin Trimby or anyone who was in Oldham's during his tenure as Housemaster.
b) Any Churchillians staying on after the drinks party
c) Anyone who left in a year ending in '4' or who was teaching at the School during those years
d) Anyone who left prior to 1974
e) Members of the Salopian Drivers Club staying overnight
Please book your own accommodation and indicate whether you would like to come attend School Chapel at 1030 the following morning.
I very much hope to see you then!
With my best wishes,
Holly
