Shrewsbury
Launch of the inaugural Shrewsbury STEM Magazine
It is with great excitement that we present to you the first ever STEM magazine.
Led by L6 editor Thea H, this edition brings together a huge range of articles that cohesively and comprehensively cover the most pressing topics that face our society today, including the latest research in mental health, soil health, plastic waste, special relativity, lithium batteries and the science behind the most effective face mask.
The writers include the Darwin Presidents (Annie F, Marco C, Ellie L, Thea H and Ella H) and talented pupils from across the school; they have combined to produce a magazine that enables the reader to easily engage with the fascinating yet complex world of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).
The authors have translated their passion for STEM so effectively into print that this 25+ article edition is something you won’t be able to put down.
It was an absolute joy to help review these articles before publication and all the students involved should be extremely proud of the final product that resembles less of a school magazine and more of a journal akin to New Scientist.
We are pleased to release the e-copy for the enjoyment of the whole school community below.

A limited number of hard copies will be printed and distributed for viewing around school site (and of course for contributors). More prints may be made if there is an appetite for this; if you decide you’d like a hard-copy for yourself, please get in touch with Mr Wray.
