Salopian Art Show 2021 - Your chance to view the exhibition
The Art Faculty is excited to showcase all the GCSE and A-Level art and photography work in the gallery for the final show.
The Art Faculty has hung the work 'Royal Academy' style with a floor-to-ceiling hang that really makes the most of the beautifully redecorated gallery space and celebrates the richness and diversity of the work, which has been created despite the extraordinary and challenging circumstances of the last year.
Head of Art, Lucy Caddell, said: "Students have worked incredibly hard in the face of unprecedented adversity showing resilience, independence and positivity and this is reflected in the individuality, intensity and highly personal nature of the work we can see here.
The range of artwork on display is outstanding, featuring everything from exceptionally high quality oil painting to exciting projection-based installation. Meticulous drawing and printmaking have been professionally framed and we have beautifully printed large scale digital drawing, graphic illustration and photography. In the Upper Sixth studio gallery you can see a broad range of contemporary practices including surface pattern design, screenprinting, fine art textiles, photographic installation, film, ceramics and kinetic sculpture.
Seeing the exhibition virtually in a video is obviously not the same as seeing the real thing in person, because it is difficult to gain a sense of scale and texture in the space but given current restrictions it’s great to be able to open up the exhibition to a wider audience like this.
The work will remain on show into the Michaelmas term, further information and potential visits can be booked via [email protected]
