Dance competition team win Gold at Wenlock Live Arts Festival

Shrewsbury's dance group were awarded gold medals at the recent Much Wenlock Live Arts Festival.

On Sunday 23^rd March the dance competition team travelled to Much Wenlock to compete in the annual festival, which is a well-loved event for young people aged 18 years and under.

The festival has taken place since 1979 and celebrates skill in performance as well as creativity; it is such a staple in the calendar that dancers travel from all over the county to compete. 

Our dancers were entered into the Senior Classical group with their contemporary piece ‘Welcome to Wonderland’. The standard of the category was very high, and our team were awarded 1st place, showing an excellent performance technically and artistically. The adjudicator praised their commitment to the piece and thoroughly enjoyed their characterisation and storytelling.
