Cricket has returned once more to the playing fields of Shrewsbury, with the opening week of the season seeing boys and girls return to action under beautiful blue skies.

The 1st XI have faced Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and the MCC, while the Girls 1st XI have progressed to the 2nd round of the National 100 ball competition after their pre-season preparations against Warwickshire.

There was a notable milestone for 4th Former Jack H (Rb) on Sunday, who, in just his 6th appearance for the 1st XI, completed a wonderful century against Warwickshire. The 14-year-old opened the batting, and finished with 106 runs from 135 balls, helping his team to a 77 run victory. The Radbrook pupil is currently attached to the Worcestershire CCC Academy, and will be looking to impress further as the season goes on. Fellow Worcestershire Academy player Harry C (PH, L6) also shone in the same fixture, taking 6 wickets for 34 runs.

The U17 Boys and 1st XI Girls also both enjoyed National Cup wins on Thursday, comfortably beating Newcastle-under-Lyme and Rugby School respectively.
