Rowers gain experience at Bedford Head in the lead up to Junior Championships

The J15 and J16 squads travelled to Bedford on Sunday to compete in the Bedford Fours and Eights Head.

The event runs over a 2000m stretch of the River Great Ouse that passes through the centre of the town.

The wet and windy conditions provided a few challenges for the crews but did little to dampen their spirits. The event provided a great experience in the lead up to the West Midlands Junior Championships taking place in Stourport on the 6th March.

The J15 boys competed in an eight and an octuple over two divisions coming 2nd and 3rd in the Octuple and 7th and 8th in the eights event.

The J15 girls completed in a quad and placed 4th and 9th across the two divisions.

The J16 girls competed in an eight and came tie second and 5th in a close field.

The J16 boys raced two eights in the J17 and J16 eights events placing second and third in both.
