A busy week for sporting achievements!

There has been a spate of sporting achievements for our Salopians over the last week, with pupils competing at both national and local events.  

• Athletics: Harry P-M (I, IV) won the North Staffordshire XC league race on Saturday, and then was at it again on Sunday winning the 1500m race at the Trafford Open in Manchester in a PB of 4.30.05! 
• Running: Jack K (PH, IV) set a new course record at the SY Junior Parkrun around the Quarry by running 2km in 6.14. 
• Cricket: Harvey W (SH, LVI) made his debut for Lancashire 2nd XI v Durham finishing with figures 10.4 overs, 6 maidens 4-19.
• Football: The 1st XI beat Codsall School on Wednesday 8-1, a fantastic opening 20 minutes saw them 3-0 up and Captain Harry C (PH, UVI) finished the day with 5 goals. 
• Hockey: It was also great to see five students; Harry P (Rt, III), Alice B (EDH, IV) Sarah L (EDH, IV), Sophia C (MSH, IV) and Hugo P (O, LVI) at the Performance Centre Hockey trials at Abbotsholme School in Uttoxeter. 
• Netball: Olivia K (M, IV) has been selected for the Shropshire Netball County Academy after two gruelling days of trials.
