Over the second weekend of the half term the Senior Boys and Girls 1st VIII’s travelled to Henley for a three-day camp.

The camp provided the crews a chance to familiarise themselves with the Henley course on the water as well as getting in plenty of revision off the water. For the Senior Girls it was a chance to get the eight together having mainly trained in fours in the preceding months.

The Girls went on to race at the Metropolitan Regatta on Sunday. The event saw 52 women’s eights consisting of clubs and university crews racing in the 1900m time trial before getting split into eight lane finals. The crew placed twenty fifth in the time trial to go into the D final.

The final saw some extremely close racing with the lead changing multiple times between the girls and crews from Exeter and Surrey Universities. Coming across the line the girls placed second.
