Moser Library team wins award for dress display
Shrewsbury School Library is celebrating after winning an award for one of their creative displays.
The Moser Library team’s Summer Leavers' Ball Prom Dress display won the School Library Association display competition, showcasing a beautiful dress made from damaged books to highlight Shrewsbury’s new collection of fashion titles.
Head Librarian Jodie El-Gazzar and library assistants Sue Turner and Debbie Piper regularly create interactive topical displays in the Moser library, encouraging pupils to get involved with challenges and further their academics with a wide range of reading material, as well as promoting new books alongside curriculum themed displays.
The team are dedicated to ensuring that the Moser Library is an inclusive and calm space where pupils can read, relax and socialise. Pupils can find exciting new titles amidst an excellent range of fiction and a non-fiction collection that has been carefully selected to complement the school curriculum.
Alongside the print resources the Moser Library has a diverse online collection of subscriptions helping support students with their research. Sixth Form students are also supported by research and referencing sessions.
Throughout the school year the Moser Library hosts many evening events for students to attend; these range from author visits, creative writing workshops and a diverse range of speakers. There are opportunities for the Duke of Edinburgh candidates to volunteer with the Moser Library where they learn valuable skills and contribute to the displays.
Congratulations to the Moser Library team on their award.
