Salopians excel in Global Harvard Politics Review Essay Competition

This year a team of Salopians entered the Harvard Politics Review Essay Competition, a competition with more than 500 participants from over 240 schools spanning over 40 countries.
I’m pleased to announce the team of Max W (SH, UVI), Matthew W (SH, LVI), Lulu G (QEH, V), Chloe L (MSH, LVI) and Elsa L (M, V) were the 3rd placed team globally, the Champion team among all entries from UK Schools and the Champion team among all entries from Europe and Central Asia/Russia. A superb achievement in such a prestigious essay competition.
Within that team success were some outstanding individual performances; Elsa, Lulu and Chloe were all awarded merits for their essays while Matthew achieved 43/45 for his essay on the impact of the recent US election on global affairs, came 2nd in the UK and 3rd overall in Europe, Central Asia/Russia.
Most impressively, Max achieved 45/45 for his essay on the impact of global institutions. Max was the overall individual winner from the UK and the overall individual winner from Europe and Central Asia/Russia.
