The Futures Department is proud to announce that Upper Sixth student Louis M (Ch) has successfully secured a highly competitive Degree Apprenticeship at Deloitte as an Assurance Apprentice.

His achievement is even more remarkable as he received offers from three top firms before ultimately choosing Deloitte. Louis has had to navigate a range of recruitment processes, varying from online assessments and video interviews to in-person assessment centre activities and face-to-face interviews.

Louis said: “I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to get started in September. I always saw a Degree Apprenticeship as the best path for me, as it offers real-world experience while still allowing me to gain a full degree.”

Head of Futures Chris Wain added: “Louis deserves immense credit for this achievement. These roles are incredibly competitive, and Louis has grasped every opportunity, both inside and outside of school, to make him a standout candidate for these applications.

“I am also very grateful for the support and guidance Louis has been offered through our wonderful Salopian network, where he has been able to access mentoring and advice to help him navigate what are complex processes.

“I hope that this achievement will also serve as reminder that Degree Apprenticeships are an increasingly attractive option for Sixth Form pupils. With tuition fees paid by the employer, a full-time salary and often an employment role assured upon successful completion, it is interesting to see more and more Salopians exploring this route alongside or as alternative to the traditional undergraduate route.”
