Shrewsbury pupils triumph in Regional Maths competition

Two Shrewsbury pupils have secured victory in the West Midlands regional round of the UK Maths Trust Team Maths Challenge.  

Cathy W (G, III) and Hayden U (I, III) competed alongside two pupils from Packwood in the competition that tested mathematicians from Year 9 and below. The competition comprised of challenging maths questions across different formats that all required quick thinking and cooperation as a team. 

After three hours of intense competition, they emerged victorious, overcoming strong challenges from Old Swinford Hospital and Shrewsbury High School. Their win earns them a place in the National Final in London this June, where they will compete against the top teams from across the country.
