Whole School

Last Sunday the Whole School gathered to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

Services took place in the Chapel and Alington Hall, before the CCF Sections and Choir lead the procession down Central.

This year Sgt Clara G (G, UVI), the Senior Cadet in the Royal Marines Section carried the Sword Of Honour which has been kindly gifted to the school by famous cutlers Pooley Sword. The Sword of Honour goes to the top CCF cadet annually and was awarded last summer to Sgt Toby Moore (I, 2024). It will next be awarded in June.

The crowd observed a poignant two-minute silence in front of the Sir Philip Sidney War Memorial and listened to the names of Salopian soldiers being read out by the Heads of School, Finlay C (O, UVI) and Sophia C (MSH, UVI).

Wreaths were then laid by the Headmaster Leo Winkley, the Heads of School and President of the Salopian Club, Ben Duncan.
