Following a rigorous recruitment process, we are delighted to share the news of the appointment of Mr Dan Reeve as Deputy Head (Academic) from 1 September 2025.

Dan is currently the Undermaster and Head of Mathematics at Winchester College. He holds an MSc from the University of Oxford in Learning and Teaching (Distinction); a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics from the University of Cumbria; an MRes in Statistics and Operational Research and a First Class degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Lancaster. 

Before moving to Winchester in 2020, Dan worked at Epsom College as a Head of Year, Head of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, and Teacher of Mathematics.  Prior to that, he taught Mathematics, and ran the Peer Mentoring programme, at Lancaster Royal Grammar School. He has been a boarding Assistant Housemaster, a Resident Tutor, an A-Level Mathematics Examiner, and guest lecturer to university-based PGCE students. 

Dan is a Member of the Chartered College of Teachers, has experience as a governor of both an independent day school and a state-maintained school in Hampshire, and is a trustee of an education-based charity. Dan is a qualified mountain leader and level 2 rowing coach. In his free time, Dan enjoys cycling, cooking, photography and chess.

He will be on hand for public examinations results days in August, and very much looks forward to meeting and working with all in the Shrewsbury community.
