Salopian lands Golf Scholarship at University of South Carolina Aiken

We were delighted to hear that Rory M-O’B (PH, UVI) recently secured a golfing scholarship to the University of South Carolina Aiken next year.   

The captain of Shrewsbury’s Golf Team for the past two years, Rory has also been part of the England Golf pathway and the news will allow him to develop his skills still further.   

Rory said: “I’m delighted to have secured a scholarship to the University of South Carolina Aiken, which has one of the top golfing programmes in the United States.  The facilities seem amazing and I’m sure it will be an excellent experience – I can’t wait to get started!  

“I’m very grateful to all of my coaches for helping me along the way and to the school for guiding me through the application process.”   

Toby Percival, Head of Higher Education, added: “Over the past few years, interest in international universities has grown significantly and it is particularly pleasing to see successes like Rory’s and the other Salopians in the midst of applications to the US.  With the mind-blowing facilities and opportunities on offer, alongside an educational system quite different to the UK, it is important to approach such applications with your eyes open; it is incredibly gratifying to see our pupils find the right fit for them.”
